Mariah Idrissi is a model, filmmaker, and activist living between Dubai and London, who made history as the world’s first hijab-wearing model in H&M’s 2015 global campaign, sparking a modest fashion revolution.
She built momentum with a TEDxTeen talk on reshaping fashion in 2016, the Emirates Woman cover and Rihanna’s FENTY Beauty campaign in 2017 - hailed by The Telegraph as a true industry wave-maker - and UN MIPAD recognition in 2018. Mariah produced a Comic Relief documentary on homelessness, reported for The Guardian from Niger on violence against women, and joined Human Appeal as an ambassador in 2023, all while staying grounded and authentic.
Founder of Blue City Films, she co-created the viral The Halalians skit series which garnered over two million views, and recently featured on My Wardrobe Malfunction podcast. Now developing an animated feature film and a book, Mariah champions representation and creativity as one of the UK’s most influential voices in media and style.
